Remembering 9/11
Multiple Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito branches saluted our troops on 9/11 National Day of Remembrance to remember our heroes. Children in our After School Program worked together to create patriotic art projects to remember and pay tribute to the men and women who serve our country on a daily basis.
9/11 National Day of Remembrance is a way for Americans to reflect on the strength of our nation, remember the victims and survivors and honor those who rose to service in the aftermath of the attacks. During BGCA’s National Day of Service and Remembrance the Harper Branch After School Program worked together to create patriotic art projects to remember and pay tribute to the men and women who serve our country on a daily basis. The kids discussed alongside the staff members what people in our military do each day to keep our country safe. They all took time to create personal canvas flags that they could decorate their home or give to someone they felt disserved recognition that day. They also one at a time made flag print hand prints to help decorate the clubhouse and a patriotic feel as parents entered.
