Benefitting Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito

The Quack is Back! Bring your family and friends to join the Rotary Club of Del Mar for Chili & Quackers at Powerhouse Park in Del Mar for a fun-filled afternoon at the beach! Event entry is FREE. Activities include:

2:30 pm-Quackers Challenge Race: All numbered rubber duckies “adopted” by 2:00 pm will be released by Del Mar Lifeguards to just beyond the breaking waves where the tide will bring them racing to shore. The first 10 ducks to reach shore will win thousands of dollars in prizes for their “adopters.” (Prizes will include these or similar: GoPro drone, Xbox, 50″ tv, Pizza Nova gift certificate, Garmin vivoactive HR, Echo dot and more).

Winners will be announced at 3:30 pm and need not be present to win.

Duck Adoptions can be purchased on-line (click on TICKETS) or at the event. Adopters will be notified by email with their duck ID number(s).

Noon to 3:30 pm-Chili Cook-Off: Individual contestants will showcase their prized chili recipes which attendees can taste in sample sizes. Attendees get one voting ticket for every 5 chili tastes they buy. The chef with the most votes wins the Chili Cookoff Trophy plus $100 in prize money. NOTE: THERE ARE STILL CONTESTANT SLOTS AVAILABLE. (Click on TICKETS for more information)

Noon to 3:30 pm—Kids’ Activities—Besides eating and playing on the beach and surf, there will be face painting and kid’s games on the lawn area of Powerhouse Park.

Noon to 3:30 pm—Entertainment—Dano’s Steel Band

Noon to 3:30 pm—50/50 Raffle—Raffle tickets will be sold on site for $5 each, with the winner of the drawing at 3:30 pm receiving 50% of the proceeds.

• Chili taster samplers: $1 each (+1 voting ticket per 5 servings)

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Attendees over 21 with proper identification can be fitted with plastic bracelets at the ticket sales table and can purchase Beer and Wine tickets which can be used only in the Beer & Wine designated area.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is some paid parking across Coast Blvd. from the Event site and metered on-street parking. Free parking can be found a number of blocks away on a first come-first served basis.

Do I need my confirmation email to enter the event or claim a prize?

The event itself is free. The ticket sales table will have a listing of all Duck Adopters’ names and their Duck ID numbers. A winning Duck’s Adopter’s prize can be claimed with valid identification matching the Duck Adopter’s name, but a non-present winner will be contacted by email to arrange for claiming the prize.
