#GivingTuesday™ (#GT) is a movement to create a national day of giving to kick off the giving season added to the calendar on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The second annual GivingTuesday is on December 3, 2013. In the same way that retail stores take part in Black Friday, we want the giving community to come together for #GivingTuesday.  Join us!

You have the opportunity to positively influence and impact the youth of our community by supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito.  Since 1966, our Clubs have provided a safe, nurturing environment for all young people, especially those who need us most, in the Encinitas, Solana Beach, Del Mar and Carmel Valley areas. Today’s youth face greater challenges and stresses than ever before. Challenges such as making ends meet, a parent losing a job, single parent homes, health concerns and the drop-out rate along with crime, drugs and delinquency are just some issues our youth face.

Angel, a teenage middle school girl who is a member of our Encinitas Griset Branch is an example of a child whose life has been positively impacted and changed by the Club.  She came to the Club as a shy 5th grader from a single parent home and has used every opportunity the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito has offered her to grow and excel.  Now, as a teenager, she is a confident, successful, outgoing young lady and displaying leadership skills amongst her peers. Without havens like the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Dieguito, children like Angel have fewer opportunities to receive positive guidance and support to develop into tomorrow’s leaders.
