Club Kids Showcase Artwork

in National Fine Arts Exhibit

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito hosted its National Fine Arts Exhibit on January 18, 2018. The Exhibit attracted visitors and many local artists to our Harper Clubhouse, which showcased over 40 Club Kids’ artwork from all seven of our clubhouses.

Two Club Kid’s artwork was chosen as a finalist by the judges. One of our members’ artwork went on to compete at the regional level. At each regional judging, 33 pieces of artwork are chosen and sent to BGCA National Headquarters for judging and selection for the National Fine Arts Exhibit. The artwork is displayed throughout the ensuing year at BGCA events, including the National Conference.

The National Fine Arts Program promotes creativity, artistic skills and cultural enrichment while encouraging Club members to tap into their inner artist. This is a great opportunity for members to experiment and learn about the fine arts as they are able to express themselves and have their creative artwork displayed for peers and community to see.

Club Kids created artwork in the following 10 categories for the exhibit: monochromatic drawing, multicolored drawing, pastel, watercolor, oil or acrylic, print making, mixed media, collage, sculpture, or a group project.
