Marty is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University with a double major in Political Science and Philosophy. He also attended graduate courses in banking and finance from University of Southern California. Marty began his Financial Services Career in the early 70’s. His license plate reads “PRE TAX” which says it all. He received his Chartered Life Underwriter Designation from the American College of Chartered Life Underwriters in 1975, as well as his Registered Health Underwriter Designation in 1984.
Marty joined Financial Plan Design in 1986 and specializes in implementing strategies to create and diversify wealth using trusts, family limited partnerships, asset allocation in managed accounts as well as insurance and annuities. His approach is to give Clarity and Confidence in a Complex World.
Interests outside of providing financial security for his clients include spending time with his wife Mary Alice, 2 daughters and new granddaughter. Also, Marty has been a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table each year since 1973, a premier association of the insurance and financial service industry which is limited to the top 2% of producers. His function within the foundation has since expanded to include such roles as North American Advisor, Class Eight Director (1992-1995 and 2001-2003), and co-creator of the Million dollar Round Table in Canada. The Million dollar Round Table Quality of Life Grants have provided over $10,000 to the La Colonia Branch and the Sportsman’s Club at the Boys and Girls Club for special needs children. Marty began his service with the Boys and Girls Clubs as a Branch Board Member at the Lomas Santa Fe Branch from 1977- 1982. He continued to serve in the Executive Board from 1983 to present day. In total, Marty has committed 35 years to the children of the Boys and Girls clubs of San Dieguito. Likewise, Marty served as a board member for the Rotary International Foundation Permanent Fund from 2003- 2006. During which, he managed assets exceeding $500 million. In 1984, he assisted in the creation of the Rotary Club of Del Mar Foundation, which strives to provide funding and scholarships for local schools and community projects.
