Thank you for making 2019 yet another remarkable year for Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito. As I enter my sixth year as the CEO, I am so proud to acknowledge the growth, strengthening and value our programs and services have brought to this community. This year marks our 54th year of service, providing access to after school programs and top notch athletics to almost 7,000 youth across our 7 Clubhouses and 7 specialty programs, (Athletics/Big 8 Middle School Sports, Bulldogs Basketball, Carmel Valley Montessori School, Center for Healthy Lifestyle, Pardee Aquatics Center/RSD Swim Team, Summer Adventure Camps, and Youth Arts Academy).

What you may not know is that our ability to bridge the gap between our modest fees, and the real cost of maintaining our facilities, staff and programs relies solely on community donations. We are not subsidized by tax dollars or Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Our organization was founded with the mission to NEVER TURN A CHILD AWAY due to a youth’s financial situation. Although we have been able to meet the needs of all the youth and their families who needed financial assistance in the past, this number has almost doubled since 2015 reaching an all-time high of over $620,000 in 2018. The need for financial assistance is increasing annually in our region, but please know that your support has helped us meet this need so far and is truly appreciated.

It has been a pleasure and honor to work with a team of individuals who are all clearly dedicated to our mission: to provide POSITIVE activities to develop the education, health, self-esteem and character of ALL youth. The team I refer to is our BGC San Dieguito staff, Board members, volunteers and donors. Each one of you are making a lasting difference in the lives of our members! One superhero I would like to acknowledge is Mr. Doug Regnier, Board member since 2010 and Board Chair since 2016. Doug is the epitome of going above and beyond, having committed to his third term as Board Chair, guiding our Clubs with his eye for efficiency, financial oversight and strategic guidance. People like Doug are the reason our organization is able to provide quality facilities and programs that produce caring, positive, and productive citizens.

I am truly inspired by my reflection of the past five years and I thank you for wholeheartedly being a part the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Dieguito. CHEERS to providing GREAT FUTURES in 2020!

Please contact me anytime to meet for a tour or simply for more information about how to get involved. I look forward to hearing from you.
